CATOOSA, Okla. – The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development’s Reservation Economic Summit Oklahoma will be held July 11-14 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

According to the RES Oklahoma website, the event will feature access to tribal leaders, members of Congress, federal agency representatives, state and local elected officials and top CEOs on a national platform. The website also states attendees will benefit from networking, teaming opportunities and business development sessions.

A one-day entrepreneurship boot camp is also scheduled for the summit. The camp is a series of four 90-minute hands-on, interactive experiential-learning based workshops with two facilitators at each workshop.

“Participants will learn the nuts and bolts of planning, launching and managing the early-stage growth of a new enterprise. They will receive useful information, frameworks and concepts that they can apply to their own enterprises or in their work supporting those of others,” the website states. “They will have the opportunity to brainstorm, work in teams and develop a model business in real-time. They will also learn communications and presentation skills, and see the business planning process through from concept to goal.”

A Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, or YES, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 11.

YES is designed for Native high school- and college-aged students interested in business and entrepreneurship to hone their skills and learn more about what it takes to become successful in business. Participants learn from accomplished entrepreneurs about the strategies, skills and best practices that have helped them reach their business dreams.

“YES events also gives attendees an overview of some of the basic fundamentals important to achieving success in the business world,” the website states. The summit will also hold a capital fair, procurement expo, business tradeshow, art market and golf tournament.
