National Center announces leadership change

President and CEO Gary Davis stepping down to pursue new opportunities

MESA, Ariz. – The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) announces that President and CEO Gary Davis will be stepping down from his current position within the organization effective September 30th. Davis, himself an accomplished entrepreneur, musician, author, speaker, and actor, is departing the National Center to pursue other opportunities, which he will announce at a later date. NCAIED is currently engaged in a thorough search process to determine its next President and CEO, which it hopes to conclude in the coming months.

“It has been an incredible honor to serve as the President and CEO of an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Native peoples across the U.S.,” said Davis. “Being a part of the National Center’s growth has been a rewarding experience, and it has been a privilege to help broaden and develop economic opportunity for Indian Country. Though stepping down as President and CEO of the National Center was not an easy decision, I look forward to continuing to support the organization and seeing friends and colleagues at Reservation Economic Summits (RES) and other events in the future. I am currently evaluating new career opportunities, which I hope to announce soon, but my commitment to advancing economic development in Indian Country will never diminish.”

We look forward to his successor building on the strong foundation that Gary has laid in the nearly five years he’s led the National Center.”

The National Center’s next regional RES will be RES New Mexico and take place at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe from November 14-17.
