The two stand-alone restaurants join a growing list of leading national brands and retail businesses opening on Morongo Trail beside the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa.

Morongo Indian Reservation, Calif. – Orange chicken and caramel Frappuccino lovers alike can rejoice as a new Starbucks coffeehouse and a new Panda Express restaurant have both opened on the Morongo Indian Reservation near the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa.

The two new restaurants located just off Interstate 10 freeway at Morongo Trail are the latest to join the growing list of leading national brands that have come to Morongo – and plans are in the works to add more new businesses along Morongo Trail to serve travelers and Morongo guests.

“Starbucks and Panda Express are among the most recognized and beloved brands in the country, and they will be in good company with the other national chains who call Morongo home,” said Tribal Chairman Robert Martin of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. “We are excited to be continuing to bring new projects to Morongo Trail and to be creating new jobs, new economic activity and new opportunity for the region.”

The new Panda Express at Morongo opened on Friday Oct. 14. As America’s favorite Chinese kitchen, the family-owned Panda Express owns and operates over 1,800 locations globally.

The Starbucks at Morongo opened on National Coffee Day on Sept. 29. With over 300,000 employees wearing the green apron around the world, Starbucks owns and operates more than 22,000 outlets in 73 countries, including more than a dozen on Indian reservations.

The projects are all part of Morongo’s master-planned development spanning several miles along the Interstate 10 Freeway in Cabazon, California.  Morongo continues to work with Forest City Enterprises, Inc., a national real estate company, to further explore and expand the tribe’s retail, hospitality, and service-related capabilities along Interstate 10.

Over the past two years, Morongo has welcomed a new In-N-Out Burger restaurant -- the first in the nation to be opened on tribal lands -- as well as the first tribally-owned Taco Bell in the U.S. Earlier this year, Morongo opened a new flagship store for Hadley Fruit Orchards, the iconic roadside institution that has nourished and delighted desert travelers for decades with delicious date shakes, nuts and dried fruit.
