KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) – The management of Grand Canyon West and its oversight of the Grand Canyon Skywalk are up for review among members of the Hualapai Tribal Council.

The council is looking into why the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation board of directors is considering a plan to borrow more than $20 million.

The Tribal Council has scheduled a community meeting Tuesday afternoon in the tribal gym at Peach Springs. Calls to the council chair and vice chair were not returned.

The Skywalk is a glass-bottom, horseshoe-shaped structure which suspends visitors more than 4,000 feet above the floor of the Grand Canyon.

It extends 70 feet from the edge of the canyon and was completed in March 2007.
