PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz. (AP) – The Hualapai Nation is asking a tribal judge to dismiss a request for arbitration in a dispute over the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Las Vegas businessman David Jin invested millions to build the glass bridge that extends from the Grand Canyon on the Hualapai reservation. Jin contends the tribe hasn't paid him what he's owed and filed separate actions in tribal and federal court.

The defendants that include Tribal Council members want the tribal action dismissed, saying they never waived sovereign immunity.

Tribal Judge Ida Wilbur says she has jurisdiction over the matter and ordered the parties to produce documents in the dispute this week.

According to the plaintiffs, Wilbur will not rule on the dismissal motion until the parties discuss their differences and update her on the talks.
