‘More Than Frybread’ slated to begin shooting this spring

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – With two films already available on store shelves (‘Turquoise Rose’ and ‘Blue
Gap Boy’z’), and a third film slated to hit theatres March 2010 (‘Pete & Cleo’), it’s surprising that
Holt Hamilton Productions is gearing into production for their fourth feature film currently entitled
‘More Than Frybread’.  “We’ve held auditions at numerous venues across Arizona.  From four
corners to the southern border with the Tohono O’odham.  We have a few parts that we need to
fill soon.  One is the lead Navajo actor named Buddy.”  Holt Hamilton said in a recent interview.

The film ‘More Than Frybread’ is the fictional story that follows five individuals from various
reservations in the state of Arizona that meet up at the First Annual Arizona State Frybread
Championships.  “It’s all about bragging rights in this one.  Who really does make the best bread
is what’s at stake.”  Hamilton stated.

The final three audition opportunities will be in Tuba City, Peach Springs, and Camp Verde.

Tuba City:

Location:  Community Youth Center Gym
Date:  28 December 2009
Time:  1-4pm

Camp Verde:

Location: Yavapai-Apache Cultural Center
Date:  29 December 2009
Time:  1-4pm

Peach Springs:

Location:  Multi Purpose Building
Date:  30 December 2009
Time:  1-4pm

Holt Hamilton Productions continues to look for Native Americans actors, especially those ages
18 years and over.  “We’ll need hundreds of extras for the championship frybread scenes that
will be shot in Phoenix somewhere.  I got my introduction to making movies as an extra about
ten years ago.  I fell in love with the process.  It’s a great way to see what it takes to make a
movie and have some fun at the same time.”  Hamilton went on to say that he’ll be there for the
last auditions and looks forward to finding brand new talent for this one.  “We’re hoping to find
more hidden gems in the Native community and give them a chance to shine and develop their
skills.”
