(Nashville, TN)  February 3, 2010 – Native American multi-genre artist, Bill Birdsong Miller took home the 2010 Grammy Award for Native American Music Album Spirit Wind North, distributed through Intero. This is the third Grammy award for Bill Miller in 5 years. Over the course of his 30 year career, and multiple recordings, Bill has been honored to receive 7 Nammys, one for lifetime achievement.

Miller, who introduces his business partnership with Intero as his other “tribe,” has produced  three previous recordings with Warner Bros., along with his brilliant symphonic composition, The Last Stand, based on the battle of The Little Big Horn which debuted to a sold audience and again on a sold out tour in Israel with the Israeli Kibbutz Orchestra.

A master storyteller, Bill shares his message of transformation through reconciliation with the performing arts community, colleges, universities and corporations throughout North America.
This album, the first in a series of four, gives honor to all of the North American tribes through flute song and prayer.

“This award means more to me than any other I have won, because I am at a great place in my life personally, spiritually and musically and that makes all the difference,” says Miller about his 2010 Grammy win. “This award gives voice to our First Nations community.  I am incredibly grateful for this honor, but mostly for how my life and the meaning of it right now puts it all into perspective.  I look forward with great anticipation for what the rest of 2010 holds!”

Bill has also appeared on NBC–Today Show, CNN-Showbiz Today, PBS–Austin City Limits, PBS - Special “Songs of the Spirit”, RFD–TV, PBS-Special “For The Generations,” in addition to features on NPR–Washington, D.C., WSM Radio, XM Radio.
