Osage Casino welcomes Candlebox, Soul Asylum June 10

TULSA, Okla. – Alternative rock bands Candlebox and Soul Asylum will perform during a standing room only show at the Osage Event Center on Friday, June 10.

Tickets are $20 and are available by visiting the Osage Event Center box office at L.L. Tisdale Parkway and 36 Street North or by calling the box office at (918) 699-7667. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Guests 18 and older are welcome.

Candlebox’s first album in 1993 reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts and featured hit singles, “Change,”  “Far Behind,” and “Cover Me.” The band played Woodstock ’94 and the next year released “Simple Lessons” and “Understanding,” commercially successful songs from their second album, Lucy.

Reunited in 2006, the band released their first studio album in 10 years. Their 2008 record “Stand” climbed to No. 15 on the United States Mainstream Rock Chart. Their CD/DVD release “Alive in Seattle” preceded several live performances for U.S. Troops in Kuwait and Iraq in August 2010.

Soul Asylum received a Grammy Award in 1994 for their smash hit “Runaway Train” from their most popular album, Grave Dancers Union, a certified triple-platinum in 1993.  The band features longtime members Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy, with ex-Replacements and current Guns ‘N Roses bassist Tommy Stinson and former Prince drummer Michael Bland.

Soul Asylum has performed live consistently in the last few years and is preparing to release their 10th studio album, according to a March 4 article in Rolling Stone magazine. The group’s last studio album was The Silver Lining in 2006.
