Los Angeles, CA – 2011 Today, the 8th Annual Red Nation Film Festival

(RNFF) – The Authentic Voice of American Indian & Indigenous Cinema, Home

to the American Indian & Indigenous Documentary Filmmaker announced a call

for submissions for short and feature-length films.  Submission forms can

be completed directly online at the official RNFF at

www.rednationfilmfestival.com.  The 2011 Red Nation Film Festival will be

held November 1-7 with screenings in Los Angeles, California.



Deadlines to submit U.S. and International films for the 8th Annual Red

Nation Film Festival are:



July 15, 2011 – EARLY SUBMISSION DEADLINE (ALL FILMS)

September 5, 2011 – OFFICIAL DEADLINE, (ALL FILMS)



Completed U.S. and international feature-length and short films may be

submitted and must arrive in the Los Angeles office by July 15th for early

consideration.



2011 Red Nation Film Festival – The Authentic Voice of American Indian &

Indigenous Cinema is currently accepting applications for films and videos

made by and/or about people of American Indian & Indigenous descent

although filmmaker needn’t be of American Indian & Indigenous descent.

Films should preferably depict positive and realistic images and can be of

any genre —- drama, comedy, horror, adventure, animation, romance, science

fiction, experimental, music, sport, etc.



The RNFF accepts features and shorts; narratives and documentaries.  The

RNFF will accept submissions of works in progress, however, films and

videos must be completed no later than September 5, 2011.  All submissions

must be in English or have English subtitles.



The RNFF competition categories are: Best Narrative Feature, Documentary

Short, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, Best Documentary

Feature, Best Director-First Feature, Animated Short Subject,

Environmental Feature,   Live Short Subject, Music Video, Public Service,

Sport Film, Best Commercial Award.  Films in competition must be

copyrighted no earlier than 2011. With the exception of the Best

Commercial Award, all films are judged by an independent jury panel.



The RNFF  presents and showcases a broad spectrum of American Indian &

Indigenous creative works, RNFF MISSION is dedicated to breaking the

barrier of racism by successfully replacing American Indian stereotype

with recognition, new vision, arts, culture and economic prosperity by

placing American Indian Filmmakers at the forefront of the entertainment

industry and to introduce American Indian Filmmakers to larger, global

mainstream audiences.



In addition to the film festival, the RNFF  presents Red is Green Carpet

Galas – Native Fashion with Social Action, Native Youth Films/Cultural

Bridging, Exclusive Screenings, L.A. Premieres, Art Exhibits, Film

Contests, Red Nation FilmLab, Industry Panels, Workshops, Industry Mixers,

Night of Tribute Awards Ceremony, Film Awards Show, Concert Series, Red

Nation Heritage Ball, Red Nation Film Festival “On the Road”.



The Annual Red Nation Film Festival – The Authentic Voice of American

Indian & Indigenous Cinema is held and part of the Annual American Indian

Heritage Month in the City/County of Los Angeles and is the most

prestigious American Indian Film Festival in the United States.
