NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel regrets to announce that the 14th Annual Native American Music Awards on Friday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. at Seneca Niagara Events Center is postponed.  A rescheduled date for the show has been set for Friday, May 10, 2013, at 8 p.m.  Guests may retain their tickets for the new date.

Tickets purchased at any Seneca Casino must be returned to their original point-of-purchase location for a refund.  Those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster may seek a refund at any Ticketmaster location, online at Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.  Tickets for the May 10, 2013, show are now on sale.

The show organizers tragically lost their home due to Hurricane Sandy last month and had initially tried to keep the original date before deciding to postpone the show.  “I am most grateful for Seneca Niagara Casino’s understanding and support, and their efforts to ensure the awards show continuation by providing a postponement date,” said Ellen Bello, president and founder, Native American Music Association (NAMA).  “I am also deeply touched by the outpouring of support and love from our artist community.  Mother Earth has presented us with an extremely challenging time for me and my family as well as many other coastal communities throughout New York and New Jersey, but we will rebuild and prevail.”

When the upcoming Native American Music Awards resumes on May 10, 2013, it will mark the sixth consecutive time the show takes place at Seneca Niagara Events Center.  Renowned comedian, ventriloquist and puppeteer Buddy Big Mountain, Tony Duncan – the world-champion hoop dancer featured in Nelly Furtado’s music video “Big Hoops” – and Indian E are among a dozen Native entertainers and musicians throughout North America who will be part of the final performance lineup.  The event will feature more than 35 diverse awards categories.
