TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A feature film about a homeless Native American parolee trying to find his way in Tulsa is set to start shooting later this month.

The film, "Mekko," is written and directed by Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo of Tulsa.

Mekko stars Native American stuntman Rod Rondeaux in the lead role. Rondeaux was previously in "3:10 to Yuma" and "Wild Wild West."

Harjo says he's shot all of his films in Oklahoma. He says it's his home and it inspires his work.
