TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee citizens now have added convenience when refilling prescriptions. Medication refills can now be ordered online from a computer or mobile device at any hour thanks to the new Cherokee Nation pharmacy refill website.
The website was launched this week at www.cherokee.org/healthcare/PharmacyRefill.
“As our population ages, more and more patients are becoming comfortable using a computer and navigating the Internet. Our society has become so accustomed to having everything we need at our fingertips through smart phones, so this is a big step for us,” said Cherokee Nation Executive Director of Health Services Connie Davis. “Improving access to health care is one of Chief Baker’s primary initiatives, and we are constantly evaluating ways to achieve that goal. Having pharmacy services available online is another innovative tool to maximize our patients’ time and resources, and we’re excited to offer it.”
Patients will be required to register on the new website by entering their chart number, date of birth and ZIP code. Once they have registered and login, citizens will only need their prescription number to request refills. Prescriptions can be mailed to a patient’s home or picked up at the health center where they were last filled.
Refills are still available by calling 866-939-0008 or visiting one of the Cherokee Nation’s eight health centers or W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah. For more information, email
