LAKE POWELL, AZ. - One of Mother Nature’s most unique creation is a massive rock formation called Tower Butte. Standing majestically, Tower Butte overlooks Lake Powell and in the distance, Navajo Mountain.
Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park encompasses northern Arizona and southern Utah border. With magnificent red rocks, this canyon country is decorated with natural sandstone carved for centuries by water, wind and heat.
To enhance and expand their economic and recreational resources on the Navajo Nation, Navajo Parks and Recreation Department will include Tower Butte as a prime tourism destination. Navajo Parks and Recreation Department currently showcases some of the top vacation destinations in the world with 2.2 million acres at Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park.
Water Holes Canyon, Upper Antelope and Lower Antelope Canyon combined attract visitors from all over the world and welcomes over 170,000 visitors annually to these sites which are located at Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park. Navajo Parks and Recreation Department is working closely with ABEARCO, Inc. and The Papillon/Grand Canyon Scenic Group to provide a spectacular experience for visitors coming to Tower Butte.
Navajo Parks and Recreation Department operates and manages Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Four Corners Monument, Window Rock Tribal Park and Veteran’s Memorial, Bowl Canyon Recreation Area, Cottonwood Campground at Canyon de Chelly, Little Colorado River Tribal Park, and Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park.
