COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho (AP) – A Honduras man has been sentenced to 28 years in prison in last year's fatal shooting of a member of the Coeur d'Alene tribe.

Juan C. Aldana-Villanueva pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Timothy I. Wolfe outside a downtown bar.

Aldana-Villaneuva was sentenced on Friday. The 23-year-old will be eligible for release after 20 years. He is an illegal immigrant and will be deported as soon as he is released.

Witnesses told police that Aldana-Villanueva and the 21-year-old Wolfe were arguing at the bar early May 9, 2009.

After the bar closed, Aldana-Villanueva pulled up in a car beside Wolfe and his friends.

Defense attorney Lynn Nelson says Aldana-Villanueva shot Wolfe after the two struggled.
