OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A former security guard at a tribal smoke shop in Clinton has been sentenced to ten months in federal prison after pleading guilty to staging a fake armed robbery.

Federal prosecutors say 21-year-old William Jeffery Brady of Clinton was sentenced Tuesday for conspiracy to commit theft from the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe.

U.S. Attorney Sanford Coats says Brady worked as a security guard at the smoke shop and intentionally left a door unlocked so a co-conspirator could gain entry in December 2009. Coats says $42,000 in cash was taken from the smoke shop's safe. A telephone message left with Brady's attorney was not immediately returned.

Brady was sentenced to ten months in prison, three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $42,140 in restitution.
