CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – The Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes of Wyoming are receiving nearly $455,000 to provide job training for adults and at-risk youth.
The U.S. Department of Labor said this week that it's distributing $67 million to Native American groups in 41 states.
In Wyoming, the Eastern Shoshone tribe is receiving about $125,000 and the Northern Arapaho about $212,000 for employment and training services for tribal members who are unemployed or underemployed.
The Eastern Shoshone will also receive about $36,000 and the Northern Arapaho about $80,800 for job training for at-risk youth.
The government says the programs will provide job placement assistance along with academic, occupational and literacy skills training.
