LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – A total of nearly $435,000 in federal funding is going to Nebraska City and the village of Winnebago for tourism projects.
The office of Gov. Dave Heineman says the money comes from Community Development Block Grants, which is administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
A news release from the department says Nebraska City is giving its $300,000 grant to the Arbor Day Foundation. The foundation plans to renovate its Lied Lodge and Conference Center, improve sections of the Conservation Trail and Tree Adventure and expand the Discovery Ride's conservation demonstrations.
The village of Winnebago will award $134,800 to the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska to help the tribe renovate the Winnebago Veterans Memorial Park Event Center.
