PAWNEE, Okla. (AP) – Pawnee Nation members have chosen a current member of the American Indian tribe's business council as that council's new president.

According to unofficial election results posted on the tribe's website, councilman Marshall Gover received 220 votes while incumbent council President George Howell received 159 during Saturday's election.

The results of the election will be made official at 5 p.m. Wednesday if no protests are filed.
