WYANDOTTE, Okla. (AP) — The Wyandotte Nation opened a new $1.2 million community center on Monday.

The community center features an activity center, senior center, kitchen and a saferoom for people in the community to go to during severe weather. The Wyandotte Nation Housing Department is also moving its offices into the center as well.

Chief Billy Friend says in a news release that the community center is another step in the Wyandotte Nation's ongoing process of building and improving the community.
