The 5th Annual Cherokee Art Market will feature more than 130 elite Native American artists from across the nation on Oct. 9 -10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Cherokee Art Market will be held in the Sequoyah Grand Ballroom at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa located at 777 West Cherokee Street, Catoosa, OK 74015. Admission to the Cherokee Art Market will be $5 per person.
The finest Native American artwork representing many different tribes will be displayed and sold including beadwork, pottery, painting, basketry, sculptures and textiles. In addition, guests will enjoy a variety of cultural performances and the Art Tour of Tulsa.
An awards reception will be held in the Grand Hall of the Cherokees ballroom on Friday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. in honor of the Cherokee Art Market winners. A purse of $75,000 will be awarded across 20 categories. The public is welcome to attend the awards reception for $25 per person. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
“The Cherokee Art Market has become a leader in Native American art shows by providing a venue for artists to showcase their talent and guests to purchase beautiful, authentic pieces,” said Molly Jarvis, Vice President of Cultural and Public Relations at Cherokee Nation Entertainment. “The fact that the show continues to grow each year speaks volumes to the level of talent and interest in Native American art and film.”
Last year’s Cherokee Art Market set records for attendance with more than 4,000 guests, total art entries at 225 and nearly 150 Native American artists from across the nation. Betty Willems won Best Of Show with “Sky Dome Regalia” for her Beadwork / Quillwork entry. The show featured more than 60 winners in 9 classes with $75,000 in overall prize money awarded across 20 categories.
The International Cherokee Film Festival will be running simultaneously on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Cherokees ballroom. Tickets for individual screenings are $4 and an all-day pass is $10. Complimentary tickets are available for students, tribal employees, artists and independent filmmakers.
The film festival categories include Feature Film, 72-plus minutes; Feature Documentary, 50-plus minutes; Documentary, up to 50 minutes; Short, up to 40 minutes; Short Film Nook, 15 minutes or less; Multi-Media; Music Video/DVD Music CD; Animation; Student Filmmaker, under 23 years old; and Other including Public Service, Educational Instructional and Organizational.
