I'm discouraged today about things I'm seeing on social media. There seems to be a lot of controversy and display of racism and violence towards anyone for anything. People are shooting at first responders and men in women of police officers FIREFIGHTERS MEDICAL PEOPLE. People that are supposed to be against this kind of thing are encouraging these things and people are becoming violent and destructive and hurting one another. When I joined the MILITARY I stood before a military official and took an oath and vowed to protect those who could not protect themselves and free those of Tierney. I also took an oath to look out for my fellow man and be kind courteous and gentle to the needs of those in need.
I took this oath to heart and since that time I've always tried to do the best and be the best man I can. Lately, I look around and watch the news listen to the people and all I see and hear is hatred and anger....
I feel sorry for these people because they are not thinking about what they are doing, there acting like savages. I'm sending out and posting my message on Facebook that it doesn't have to be this way and that people need to stop and look at themselves and see what they have become. Our people the people of the choctaw nation are doing great things and I'm happy for us but I also feel selfish because these people don't enjoy our quality of life do to our choices and the changes we make. You are doing a great job of representing the choctaw nation. I don't look at us as better than others only wiser. And before that gets taken to far please allow me to clarify what I mean.
Some might take this as I'm saying everyone else is stupid, no that is not my message. My message is this we the choctaw nation stop and look around and look at the big picture, how and what are choices will do or change our environment. We think before we speak. I myself do this daily and think about everyone's feelings and thoughts before I open my mouth and say anything. I feel and believe whole heartedly and feel it in my native American choctaw soul. My heart and soul and spirit are hurting. Because people are not doing the same.... This morning I woke up and was looking on my Facebook and saw a video titled "Rules of beating your wife according to Allah" I saw a video of some black kids having a black doll and a white doll in front of them and when asked which was prettier they pointed to the white doll when asked which was the ugly they pointed at the black doll when asked which was the good they said the white when asked which was bad they pointed at the black doll. This was a sad display to me. My heart went out to these children. I go to the Oklahoma city Indian clinic I see Hispanic black and white and native Americans and some people say something about it but me myself it doesn't bother me. Here is what my outlook is. I don't blame kids for what they look like or discriminate against if there is a problem I say talk to the parents especially if you feel that strongly about it.
When I think about these rich fat cat senators and congressmen and government officials and I think that at one point they wanted to be in office because they cared and they wanted to change things to make the world a better place to live but now they are greedy people who do what's in THERE best interest and what lines there pockets but at one time or another these people were caring individuals who wanted to make a difference in the world when I hear there promises and see what they actually do I'm discouraged and disappointed but I have a lot of faith in you and what you do and that you are never to busy to respond to my letters. It helps me to keep faith in humanity and that we will eventually one day become better people. I await your response as usual Gary my friend and chief and wise elder.
