NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The Sam Noble Museum in Norman is preparing to host the Oklahoma debut of a Navajo language version of the movie "Star Wars."

The movie is to be shown at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the museum.

Museum curator Daniel Swan told Norman radio station KGOU that the dubbed version was developed through the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Arizona.

The project is intended to generate greater interest in Native American language.

Dr. Mary Linn, associate curator of native languages at the museum, says a lot of linguists are fans of the movie. She says it was a major undertaking that shows native languages can be used to translate anything.
