ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Award-winning Chef David Ruiz of the Pueblo Harvest Café teaches frybread making workshops at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on occasion.

Here’s Chef David’s recipe to make your own frybread at home:

4 cups Bluebird Flour

1/4 cup of lard

1 teaspoon Kosher salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 cups warm water

Combine all dry ingredients. Add warm water into the dry ingredients and whisk until well combined. Form 4 oz. balls and let sit in refrigerator overnight. Roll out by hand (not rolling pin). Fry in lard until golden brown on each side, about 30-45 seconds on each side.
