Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder announced today that Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby and Lt. Gov. Jefferson Keel will remain in office for another four-year term.
The team was officially reelected by a one vote margin when no challengers had filed at the close of the filing period 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.
Ms. Loder also announced candidates seeking five legislative seats and one judicial seat within the Chickasaw Nation. The filing period closed Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 4:30 p.m.
Pontotoc District Seat 2 incumbent legislator Nancy Elliott will retain her seat as no challengers filed for the position.
Pickens District Seat 4 incumbent legislator Shana Tate Hammond will retain her seat as no challengers filed for the position.
Tishomingo District Seat 1 incumbent legislator Scott Wood of Tishomingo will also retain his seat as no challengers filed for the position.
Pontotoc District Seat 1 incumbent legislator Toby Perkins of Ada will face challengers Oscar W. Gore of Ada, and Mary Holden-Nordwall of Ada.
Pickens District Seat 1 incumbent legislator David Woerz of Ardmore will face challenger Mike Watson of Ardmore.
Supreme Court Seat 2 incumbent Barbara Anne Smith of Newcastle will face challenger Linda English Weeks of Norman
Registered Chickasaw voters will vote by mail ballots, with ballots being mailed to registered Chickasaw voters July 9, 2015.
Ballots must be returned to the Chickasaw Nation Election Commission no later than 10:30 a.m. July 28, 2015. No hand delivered ballots will be accepted.
The Chickasaw Nation Election Commission shall conduct and supervise the ballot counting beginning at 11 a.m. July 28, 2015, at the Chickasaw Community Center in Ada. Results of the elections shall be announced the same day.
