NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP)  – Tex Hall once again will lead the Three Affiliated Tribes, after a four-year absence.
Hall was sworn in as tribal chairman on the Fort Berthold Reservation on Wednesday, after he defeated incumbent chairman Marcus Levings in Tuesday's election.
The Minot Daily News reports that Hall won with 55 percent of the vote.
Hall served two terms as chairman before losing to Levings in 2006. Levings beat Hall that year by more than 200 votes, but the contest dragged on for months while Hall unsuccessfully appealed his loss to the National Indian Gaming Commission and tribal courts.
Hall is a former president of the National Congress of American Indians.
