TUBA CITY, Ariz. (AP) – The last of five people accused of receiving $80,000 in bonuses in violation of Navajo Nation ethics laws is set to go before a hearing officer Tuesday.

Charlene Nez is the secretary at the Tuba City Chapter, one of the largest communities on the reservation.

Tribal ethics and rules investigator Lewnell Harrison says the five elected officials received the money from late 2009 to 2011. He says the office's investigation is ongoing.

Nez faces removal from office, a five-year ban on seeking elected office and could be ordered to repay the money. She says she wants the truth revealed but declined to comment further.

Cases against the other four officials – Helen Herbert, Jimmy Holgate, Robert Yazzie and Max Goldtooth – have been resolved.
