A General Service Administration (GSA) Vehicle, and other electronics were among the high-priced items known to have been stolen in an armed-burglary at the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribal Center Headquarters the morning of January 4, 2011. The burglar was discovered when early morning staff arrived that morning.
The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribal Center, headquarters for administration, was broken into on the morning of January 4, 2012. Six offices were broken into and ransacked. Various items stolen, but the high-priced items included electronics and a General Service Administration (GSA) vehicle that was leased by the federal government to Tribal Council. The vehicle is a white 4-door Ford Focus, license plate G134606L. The vehicle was taken at 6:48 a.m.
“Our law enforcement is working diligently to catch the suspect,” states Tribal Chairwoman Frances G. Charles. “We’re asking for your help. If anyone has any information please contact the authorities. The Lower Elwha Tribal community is grateful for any assistance provided to help us bring this individual into custody.”
“As a result of the extensive damages crimes, federal authorities were notified,” states Sergeant George Black Crow of the Elwha Police Department. The Native American suspect is potentially facing federal charges as well as tribal charges.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and is currently facing potential burglary, trespassing, theft, and assault charges. If you see the suspect or the vehicle contact the authorities at 9-1-1, please do not try to engage the suspect. Contact the authorities.
